Try it yourself: Try a brain dump
- Pick a topic you learned at least a few days ago. Put your book and notes away.
- For five minutes, write or draw everything you can remember about it. It will feel hard, and that is the point.
- Now open your notes and use the coloured pen to add anything you missed or got wrong.
- Write three questions a friend could use to test themselves on the tricky bits, then try your own questions again tomorrow.
Tutors and lecturers build in regular recall practice with feedback, because pulling knowledge out of memory makes it stick better than rereading.
